The Climax Jazz Band performs at SEVEN44 Restaurant And Lounge, (formerly People’s Chicken, formerly Chick’N’Deli), where they began in 1983. They have performed for the Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet, Toronto Symphony, major political parties, company functions and festivals across Canada and abroad. Their particular brand of traditional jazz includes marches, blues, ragtime, spirituals and popular dance tunes from the shows.

ENTERTAINING
Climax are known for their wide variety of tunes, with lots of vocals; they play straight from the heart and with a great sense of humour. No wonder they are one of the most popular traditional jazz bands around.
HOT AND TIGHT
Climax’s first gig was at Albert’s Hall, upstairs at Toronto’s Ye Olde Brunswick House, from May 1971, six nights a week. Saturday matinées began at Malloney’s Studio in 1973.
Their fame spread far and wide. leading to their organizing charter flights to New Orleans, invitations to festivals all over North America, Europe and Japan and popular jazz cruises.
Climax’s British-style trad. jazz is hot and tight, with a wide range of marches, rags, blues, spiriituals and popular songs. Great for dancing and listening. The band has 22 CDs available, including two award winners, and a fine synchronized DVD recorded in Arizona.
JAZZ FESTIVALS, CONCERTS AND CRUISES
Climax has appeared at numerous festivals all over North America: New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fair, Sacramento, Fresno, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Port Angeles, Pismo Beach, Denver Summit, San Diego, Madison WI, Seattle, Seaside OR, Olympia WA, Three Rivers CA, Toronto, Vancouver and numerous U.S. and Canadian jazz clubs.
They have played every winter on JazzSea cruises for about 600 jazz fans and have cruised to Hawaii, Mexico, the Amazon, Panama Canal and many exotic Caribbean destinations.
