Ambassadors of Lula Lounge, Toronto’s home to live salsa, The Lula All Stars features the city’s top Latin vocalists backed by the cream of the crop musicians. Many of the band members also lead their own musical projects bringing their unique style to create a Toronto salsa supergroup. Showcasing original compositions, many of which were included on the 2012 Lula Lounge Essential Tracks CD, this salsa dream team includes such luminaries as Roberto Linares Brown, Luisito Orbegoso, Yani Borrell & Lady Son.
Since 2002 Lula Lounge has nurtured Toronto’s latin music scene by hosting regular salsa and latin jazz performances, welcoming waves of musicians immigrating from Latin American and especially Cuba. As that scene began to explode in recent years, many new bands debuted and developed creatively on the Lula stage. Lula Lounge is now one of the few places in North America that still weekly presents “traditional” salsa bands consisting of ten to twelve musicians. The Lula All Stars are the best of a vibrant roster, they are guaranteed to fill the dance floor!
