| Formed September 2007, the Mike Grieve Trio drives into the future with music in their souls, and companionship in their hearts. The Trio has been stunning audiences with ground breaking performances that push their capablities to higher levels, gaining support with every appearance. What started as a casual jam, quickly turned into a working band with high expectations. The jobs we’re quickly adding up and with every bit of experience the band began to grow strong and make a name for itself. There debut performance was held at the Legendary Red Rooster, where they landed themselves a regular monthly performance date as a “Dinner Jazz” show. Now the band is working harder than ever performing weekly at different private functions, and clubs in and around the GTA. The Mike Grieve Trio has broken some new ground in the Jazz world and continue to grow as musicians and friends. |

| Born August 25th, 1986 in Welland, Ontario, saxophonist/composer/educator Ashley Boichuk began her musical studies at age 14. After extensive studies in classical piano, Boichuk became interested in improvisation and composition which led her to study at Mohawk College with some of Canada's top musicians: Mike Malone, Dave McMurdo, Pat Collins, Darcy Hepner, Terry Basom, Don Engelert and many others. Her talents as a musician have led her to perform around the GTA. In the spring of 2008, Boichuk was featured on Toronto’s Jazz FM91 show “Jazzology”. Boichuk’s interest in various genres has led her to play with Yoruba Factor’s Afro-Cuban ensemble, Shurelock Groove’s Afro-funk group, and various other jazz ensembles including the Mohwak College Big Band. Boichuk now resides in Hamilton were she is busy as a performer, educator and student. |
